So, our State Assembly members voted to legalize a most violent sport, mixed martial arts [“Ban on MMA KO’d,” Sports, March 23]. And on the same day, the New York City Council was considering a ban on athletes chewing tobacco at sporting events because children are negatively influenced by images of athlete “role models” [“No chewing tobacco,” News, March 23].

I guess that two humans punching, kneeing, clawing and kicking each other is less of a negative influence than a guy chewing a wad of tobacco?

OK. Got it.
