I want to express full agreement with the letter about the Nassau County ambulance charges and the characterization of County Executive Edward Mangano's "no tax increase" claim as ridiculous ["Ambulance charge in Nassau an outrage," Sept. 11].
Mangano's claim is misleading and dishonest. Bills have to be paid, whether or not enough tax revenue is raised to pay them. He has managed to avoid tax hikes by borrowing large amounts to cover these bills. Nassau's debt load is increasing. Mangano has pushed the debt load on to future generations.
