Letter: Take officials' names off signs

I agree with my fellow reader who questions the need to change the street signs on South Oyster Bay Road ["New street signs wasteful," IMHO, April 30], but I also question the need to have elected officials' names plastered on every county, town, city and state building and highway.

Do these people think they have been elected to lifelong terms, or will Oyster Bay Town Supervisor John Venditto, for example, foot the bill to have his name removed from the ice skating rink on Stewart Avenue in Bethpage and the new athletic center in Hicksville?
