Newsday has published a number of articles about the danger of the Southern State Parkway -- in this case, the deaths of four young people who had their whole lives in front of them ["Crash investigation," News, Oct. 10].
The public has to learn that you simply cannot speed on this outdated, obsolete deathtrap. Rain and snow make it worse.
I cannot understand why this road has the dangerous curves that we see today. When it was built, there was sufficient land to make it straighter. These curves are now almost impossible to correct.
