As part of her and her husband’s political candidacies and government service, Hillary Clinton has released her tax returns for every year back to 1977. Donald Trump has not released any of his tax returns [“Why Trump must release tax returns,” Letters, May 31].
Trump refuses, saying he must wait until an audit is finished, although the IRS has said the audit does not preclude him making the release.
What about releasing previous years’ returns? Trump could easily quiet his critics on this matter. If he’s not hiding anything, release the returns and the question goes away. Isn’t that the exact advice he gave President Barack Obama about his birth certificate? What’s good for the goose ...
