Letter: U.S. military forces are still strong

The United States spends more money on defense per year than the next nine countries combined, so columnist Ted Bromund’s assertion that President Barack Obama has weakened our forces is nothing short of ludicrous [“One area Obama hasn’t fouled up,” Opinion, Jan. 31].

Besides the Heritage Foundation’s many right-wing donors, the foundation also has large corporate donors like Boeing and Lockheed Martin. This makes Bromund a shrill mouthpiece for the military-industrial complex.
