Letter: VLTs in Medford will be eyesore

I've lived in Medford for 45 years, and I'm upset about the possibility of a casino with up to 1,000 video lottery terminals ["No sure bet," News, May 3].

I received a flier from the private operator, Delaware North, trying to explain its position on the proposed casino. It showed pictures of other facilities the company manages at the Grand Canyon and MetLife Stadium.

My question is, why didn't the flier show a picture of the proposed Medford building and sign, which will surely be an annoyance to the residents of nearby Eagle Estates? Delaware North is misleading the public.

I've been unable to figure out why Delaware North would become partners with Suffolk County Off-Track Betting, an organization that is in bankruptcy. I don't believe the VLT parlor would be a good thing for any community.
