Letter: We should learn to love solar panels

The eclipse due to bring most of Europe

The eclipse due to bring most of Europe into deep shadow on Friday morning will put an unprecedented strain on the electricity grid, which takes power from the world's biggest concentration of solar panels. Credit: AP

The April 6 news story "Push to curb solar bids" flabbergasted me!

Riverhead Supervisor Sean Walter wants to discourage installation of solar panels on hundreds of acres by taxing them at the town's full rate.

People, wake up! Fossil fuels are limited and dirty. I love the sight of solar panels on homes, commercial properties and even spacious farmland. Why? Because their carbon offset is equivalent to planting more carbon dioxide-eating and oxygen producing trees than you can imagine. Learn to love and accept all the positive things about solar panels around us. they are truly beautiful!
