Letter: Why so many to shovel snow?

Newsday’s Feb. 12 news story “Commuter outrage” quoted riders complaining about the Long Island Rail Road fare hikes.

The picture with the story showed two people for each snowblower. There looked to be 10 LIRR employees on the platform.

This whole platform should have been cleaned by two people, easily. The 60-year-old lady next to my house does her driveway and walk by herself.

You wonder why the LIRR needs a fare hike?
