Letter: Wyandanch schools need intervention

Wyandanch schools

need intervention

I'm a Wyandanch resident of 24 years, and I have seven children, four of whom have graduated from Wyandanch High School ["No excuses for struggling districts," Opinion, Aug. 29]. I have run in school board elections for three years, and I'm also an activist with the Wyandanch Citizens' Coalition.

State Regent Roger Tilles hit the nail on the head. The many issues and concerns of Wyandanch schools, and a few other districts, should not be only addressed, but action and solutions must be enforced so that our children can receive the education and state funding that are so desperately needed.
