OK, so the Islanders are where they haven't been since 2007: in the playoffs ["It's all about winning," Sports, May 7]. On Sunday, the Nassau Coliseum was sold out, filled with people who otherwise dismiss the building as an eyesore that lacks any relevance to them or the community.
Here's a question: How many of the "fans" who occupied seats in the Coliseum on Sunday supported the Nassau County bond proposal that would have created a resource benefiting the community and keeping the Islanders where they belong?
The time to demonstrate that support was August of 2011; now, it's a matter of wishing the Islanders well in the future.
