Of course the majority of those stopped by the New York City Police Department are not carrying guns ["Record guns bust," News, Aug. 20]. They know what would happen if they were. Take away stop and frisk, and see how many carry guns.

Come on! Right after a federal judge rules that the NYPD's stop-and frisk tactics were unconstitutional, Mayor Michael Bloomberg announces the biggest gun seizure in New York City history? With his news conference, with all of his stony-faced guys standing behind him, it looks to me like this whole scenario was staged to support continuing stop and frisk.
