It disgusts me that liberal-minded Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo wants to close down prisons and raise the age of responsibility from 16 to 18 for prosecution as an adult [“Smarter thinking on incarceration,” Editorial, Jan. 27].

Anyone committing vicious and unspeakable crimes has no place in our society and should not be given leniency, college classes or a chance for a lighter sentence. That’s what raising the age of responsibility to 18 would do.
