I can’t believe Newsday buried “Study: Trump plans would make national debt skyrocket” [News, June 28] on Page A36. This study was conducted by a reputable organization, the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, and should have been highlighted more prominently.

Estimates for Hillary Clinton’s agenda are mentioned also, but the potential debt resulting from Donald Trump’s tax and budget plans is sobering. Trump supporters, be careful what you wish for.

I want to thank Donald Trump for giving me the confidence to share my opinions [“Trump’s warning,” News, June 23]. Before him, I held back because I believed one should have some knowledge about that of which he or she speaks. Trump has demonstrated that knowledge is not only unimportant, but also likely detrimental to winning a debate or simply making a point.
