Nation needs honesty from the president
As a registered Republican, I am appalled by the first 100 days of Donald Trump’s presidency [“America, not yet winning,” Editorial, April 30]. By all appearances, the next 100 days look no more promising.
In full disclosure, I did not vote for either presidential candidate, as I found both to be too flawed.
We all know the story of the boy who cried wolf. We teach our children not to lie, and that lying has consequences. Trust and integrity are cornerstones and supremely important. The story teaches us that when we lie over and over, we will not be believable and will lose trust.
Please, President Donald Trump, stop! Be the president that the honest and hardworking people of this country elected you to be. For the sake of our children and our great country, honesty and integrity matter!
