Next president will shape the high court

For the most part, I found your editorial about what Hillary Clinton needed to do at the Democratic National Convention honest and forthright [“What Democrats must do,” July 24].

I agree that she had to convince many in her base that she can and will accomplish her goals as president.

However, the editorial overlooked one very important job: The next president might need to fill one seat on the Supreme Court immediately, and possibly several others in the next four to eight years.

The selections will change the balance of the court for decades, as Clinton will likely choose liberal judges. They could run the judicial branch to 2041 and beyond.
