Tappan Zee Bridge jobs forums scheduled

People interested in working on the new Tappan Zee Bridge can attend one of two upcoming employment information forums hosted by the New York State Thruway Authority, Tappan Zee Constructors, New York State Department of Labor and the New NY Works Program.

The first forum is scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Cultural Arts Theater and Atrium at Rockland Community College, 145 College Rd., Suffern.

The second will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at the Westchester Marriott, 670 White Plains Rd., Tarrytown.

"The project will create thousands of jobs over the five year construction period and we want to put as many New Yorkers back to work as possible," said Brian Conybeare, Gov. Andrew M. Cuomo's special adviser on the bridge project. "These forums are a first step in engaging local job-seekers, providing them updated information about the unique design-build process and getting them registered so they can access opportunities as they start to become available."

Space is limited. To register for one of the forums, go online at

Please be sure to indicate location and date of the meeting you plan to attend.
