So many are now gone from the Trump campaign and administration: Steve Bannon, Anthony Scaramucci, Reince Priebus, Sean Spicer, Gen. Michael Flynn, Paul Manafort [“Bannon departs as Trump strategist,” News, Aug. 19].

What do these departures say about President Donald Trump’s judgment, wisdom, knowledge and intelligence? He chose these men for six important positions.

Public needs more info on phone scams

Bravo for printing letters from those victimized by the epidemic of scam phone calls on landlines and cellphones [“Possible solutions to reduce robocalls,” Letters, Aug. 17].

These callers appear to target the very young and senior citizens, who are vulnerable. The scam artists are apparently able to avoid many blocking devices. Some service providers limit the numbers a customer can block.

As a service, Newsday should regularly alert the public to current scams and numbers to ignore.
