Political bigwigs testify for defense in Annabi trial

NEW YORK - The first defense witnesses took the stand today in the Sandy Annabi corruption trial.

Former Lt. Gov. Al DelBello and Yonkers City Council President Chuck Lesnick both testified for the defense at the federal courthouse in Lower Manhattan.

During his testimony, Lesnick provided a brief history of the Ridge Hill development project, which prosecutors say was initially opposed by Annnabi. They say she changed her vote after being bribed.

DelBello, who worked as an attorney on a different project in which Annabi was allegedly bribed, says he never heard anything about money changing hands.
