The Seaford Wellness Council will host its 10th Annual Hot Chocolate 5k Run/Walk on Dec. 7.

The Run/Walk will start at 9 a.m. at Seaford High School on 1575 Seamans Neck Rd. Entrants will receive hot chocolate, tea, coffee and bagels in the high school cafeteria.

The event features a flat course with four right turns. In the past, up to 1,000 people have participated in the event, which is the nonprofit group’s primary fundraiser, organizers said.

All proceeds go to support programs in Seaford such as substance abuse awareness, health education, school assembly programs such as Rachel’s Challenge, and leadership and training programs to promote healthy lifestyles in the community. Beautification, revitalization and environmental projects to improve quality of life are also provided, organizers said.

Participants can sign up the day of the event at the high school auditorium for a fee of $30. For more information, call group president Michael DiSilvio at 516-384-8536 or visit seafordwellness.com.
