Seaside Heights thanks first responders to boardwalk fire with Everyday Heroes Concert

More than 500 first responders from multiple townships battled the blaze that raged for hours and destroyed about 50 businesses.

SEASIDE HEIGHTS - A free all-day festival was held today in Seaside Heights as a salute to first responders to the devastating boardwalk fire earlier this month.

More than 500 first responders from multiple townships battled the blaze that raged for hours and destroyed about 50 businesses.

The Everyday Heroes Concert festivities included music provided by Thunder 106, a bounce house for kids on the beach and an obstacle course for adults. The New Jersey United Pipe Band also marched down the boardwalk to pay tribute to the hometown heroes.

A fireworks display presented by the New Jersey Firefighters Mutual Benevolent Association wrapped up the day's events.
