The Freeport Armory on Babylon Turnpike in Freeport will host a “Winter Stand Down” Tuesday to provide services for veterans.

The program is presented by the Nassau County Veterans Service Agency. It is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the armory.

Services available will include counseling on how to access Veterans Benefits Administration services, county officials said. There will also be hot food, health screenings, legal advice, haircuts, and other services available, county officials said.

The armory is at 63 Babylon Tpke. in Freeport, about one-fifth of a mile west of the Meadowbrook State Parkway, near the Roosevelt and Merrick borders. The N41 NICE bus stops nearby at Babylon Turnpike and Grand Avenue.

More information about the program is available by calling the veterans service agency at 516-572-6565 or emailing Scott Castillo at scastillo@nassaucountyny.gov.
