Clare Louise Tonks

Huntington High School senior Clare Louise Tonks began the study of classical ballet at the age of five and has performed solo in the 2009 Long Island Ballet Competition and has received a four year summer scholarship to the Burklyn Ballet Theatre at Johnson State College in Vermont.
Clare’s teacher describes her as “a beautiful ballet dancer with an incredible work ethic. Clare’s love of ballet is always evident in the ballet studio and she shines on stage with her exquisite presence. She sets a wonderful example for all of the young aspiring dancers.”
Clare is also a talented violinist and visual artist, enrolled in the school’s Advanced Placement Studio Art course. Her academic interests include the study of practical molecular biology, which she has pursued for four summers at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory. Clare enjoys volunteering at local hospitals and plans to major in Biology while continuing to dance next fall.
