Ever since 1963, the grounds of Hofstra University have pulsated with cheers and music from this annual event.

Starting with a one-day performance featuring 13 bands in 1963, this year's event features 45 bands from across Nassau and Suffolk that promise to thrill, entertain and delight families and friends.

This year, kicking off each night, we are proud to welcome the United States Marine Corps Marching Band to the playing field.

**PROGRAMMING NOTE: The USMC Band will begin playing at 7:20 on Thursday night, 10 minutes earlier than originally scheduled. See full schedule below.

The Newsday Marching Band Festival acts as a fundraiser for each participating school band and, also funds the Newsday Marching Grant program that assists Hofstra Music students in their studies.

Once the festical begins, log on for daily photo and video uploads during the festival and be sure to tune to Cablevision Ch. 14 on Thanksgiving Day as MSG Varsity presents our yearly TV recap broadcast.
