Friday: Outdoor celebration and "Superman" screening

It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s a free outdoor screening of “Superman.” Bring your blanket or lawn chair to watch Christopher Reeve as the man of steel in the 1978 original. Music, food and fun will kick off the final night of the Kingston Parks Movies Under the Stars series.

Friday: "Mouse and the Moon" story time and craft

Listen to a reading of this colorful children’s story, written by Christina Butler and illustrated by Tina Macnaughton, and find out what happens when Mouse, Duck, Squirrel and Rabbit lose track of the warm glow of the moon one stormy night. Then make your own glow-in-the-dark craft to take home. The approximately 45-minute program will appeal to ages 7 and younger.

Saturday: Disney’s "Beauty and the Beast, Jr."

Go on a musical adventure with the beautiful Belle and her beastly captor in this stage adaptation of Disney’s Academy Award-winning animated feature. The all-ages show will be performed by Kids on Stage and directed by Lisa Lynds.

Dress up like a fairy or just bring your imagination and join the interactive walk to search for hidden fairies in the woods. Listen to a magical story and make a fairy-themed craft at this two-hour event.

Sunday: "Rendezvous with a Comet"

Aspiring astronauts, get ready for liftoff! Kids can join the crew and carry out a simulated space mission using teamwork at the Town of Ramapo Challenger Learning Center this Sunday.

Just like real astronauts, the young crew will begin with a briefing session. Next, they will enter either the Spacecraft or Mission Control, where they’ll use teamwork to complete tasks such as research, science experiments and deploying a probe. Then it’s time for the crews to trade places, so that each team can get a chance to experience both simulators. All participants will learn about the ancient and mysterious heavenly bodies known as comets.
