With his 23rd career grand slam on Tuesday, Alex Rodriguez tied Lou Gehrig for the most in MLB history. But it was the first slam for A-Rod that tied the score for his team.

Here's a breakdown of how A-Rod's grand slams have changed the scoring in the games.

-- 11 of A-Rod's 23 grand slams put his team in the lead.

-- 3 of those 11 slams were walk-off homers to win a game.

-- 11 of his 23 slams came with his team already in the lead.

-- 1 of his 23 slams tied the score for his team, and that came on slam No. 23 Tuesday.

-- 3 of his 23 slams have come on a full count.

And if you want to break down more of A-Rod's home runs, such as the 23 different pitchers to give up these slams, see our Alex Rodriguez home run database at newsday.com/arod.
