Contest: Amazin' Avenue Annual 2011

It's Day 2 of our Amazin' Avenue Annual 2011 giveaway. Let's get right to it:

The book features an interview with Mets pitcher R.A. Dickey, who - as you know - delivered easily the best season of his career with the 2010 Mets, at age 35. Dickey arrived in baseball when the Rangers selected him with their first-round pick (18th overall) in the 1996 amateur draft.

There's a whole story behind that, but let's take a greater look at that 1996 draft. Right now, Dickey - with 33 career wins - ranks eighth out of the 21 pitchers selected in the first round; seven never even made the majors. Just for clarity, we're including the "sandwich" round, often referred to as the supplemental round.

Name the pitcher who, as of this posting, has the most career victories of those pitchers drafted in the 1996 first round (again, including the supplemental round).

The first person who e-mails me - at kdavidoff@newsday.com - with the correct answer will get a copy of the book.

Here are the rules.

UPDATE, 1:43 p.m.: We have a winner! Harry, who has won his share of Live Chat MVP awards, knew that Jason Marquis, selected 35th overall by the Braves, leads the pack with 96 career wins. Here's the complete list.

OK, so...live chat tomorrow at 3, the giveaway contests will resume next week and for gosh's sake, submit your season predictions in the previous post.
