HOUSTON — David Wright is not happy with the way the Mets played in their three-game sweep at the hands of the Astros, especially after they won two of three against the Rockies at Coors Field.

“I think that that series in Colorado — and it’s not an excuse, because there’s a lot of teams that have to play in Colorado — I think that series took a lot out of us,” Wright said after the Mets’ 8-1 loss to the Astros Wednesday.

“Coming here, we just weren’t ... I don’t want to say we weren’t prepared, because we were prepared,” Wright said. “We just didn’t match the energy in the execution that we had in Colorado. You knew that we were going to have some ups and downs, especially with a lot of the young guys that we have on this roster playing right now.

“But this is what we need to fix if we want to become the team that we think we are capable of becoming. Way too many inconsistencies right now. Seems like we play great for a series and then poorly for a series. We’re going to have to straighten that out.”

Wright has been playing great. He went 1-for-3 with a triple, a walk and a stolen base and is batting .392. He leads the team in steals with three.

Advice for Manny

Manny Acosta got a bear hug and some advice from fellow reliever Jon Rauch in the clubhouse after the game.

Acosta gave up three runs in two innings and has seen his ERA balloon to 9.62. It was 2.89 before this trip. In three appearances, he allowed 11 earned runs in 32/3 innings. Acosta said his fastball command is the problem. He also said Rauch told him he needed to come into the game with more of a game plan to attack hitters.

Tejada bats .464 on trip

Ruben Tejada went 3-for-4 and was 13-for-28 (.464) on the trip. He is batting .305.
