PORT ST. LUCIE, Fla. --The Mets could use insurance for the starting rotation. At the beginning of the spring, that was a job earmarked for righthander Jenrry Mejia. But after being sidelined with elbow tendinitis for much of March, Mejia said he does not expect to be ready to pitch for another six weeks.

Mejia was sent to New York on Sunday where team doctors diagnosed him with elbow inflammation, according to the Star-Ledger, though an MRI revealed no structural damage.
