Kansas City outfielder Lorenzo Cain has been out with groin tightness since Saturday and was not expected to play in Thursday's game against the Minnesota Twins.
Well, he did. And the Royals are happy he did.
Cain absolutely robbed Twins third baseman Trevor Plouffe of a home run in the bottom of the fifth in Minnesota Thursday.
Plouffe hit the ball high to left-center, but Cain was able to time his jump perfectly and bring the ball back from over the wall.
Check out this video of the play that kept two runs off the board.
