We talked a little about Johan Santana (today's starter for the Mets) and the importance of today's game in San Diego against Padres in a post below.
Santana has a 1-1 record with a 1.29 ERA at PETCO Park. But a look even deeper into the numbers shows that the current Padres have little or no history against Santana.
Over the past five seasons, only three players (Adrian Gonzalez, Chase Headley and Matt Stairs) have hits against Santana:
David Eckstein -- 0 for 1
Adrian Gonzalez -- 2 for 9, one RBI
Tony Gwynn Jr. -- 0 for 4
Jerry Hairston Jr. -- 0 for 6
Chase Headley -- 2 for 5, one home run, two RBI
Nick Hundley -- 0 for 3
Oscar Salazar -- 0 for 3
Matt Stairs -- 1 for 2
No plate appearance against Santana: Chris Denorfia, Luis Durango, Dusty Ryan, Will Venable, Lance Zawadzki
