Extra bases

- Manager Terry Collins had skullcaps like the ones Jose Reyes wears made up for the other players to “lighten things up a little bit.” Many players wore them during batting practice.

- Ike Davis (bone bruise) will get an MRI today to see how his ankle is healing. But Sandy Alderson said Davis is still wearing a boot and is not able to run.

- David Wright (stress fracture, lower back) will have a CAT scan tomorrow to see if he can advance from fielding balls from his knees.

- Carlos Delgado was a pregame visitor to the dugout.

- Hideki Matsui went into the game with 499 home runs between Japan and the U.S.
