Hall of Fame catcher Gary Carter starred for the Mets during the mid-to-late 1980s. He was a leader on and off the field and a fan-favorite. Carter later managed the Long Island Ducks. Carter died on Feb 16 after a 10-month battle with brain cancer. He was 57.
