After coming to the Mets in a trade for Randy Myers prior to the 1990 season, Franco became the team's closer for the next 10 seasons. The Brooklyn native then spent six more seasons in New York as a setup man and lefthanded specialist. He appeared in 50 or more games in eight of his 14 seasons with the Mets.

Jason Isringhausen enters this weekend’s series in Arizona needing one save to become the third pitcher to reach 300 in a Mets uniform and 23rd overall. Billy Wagner did it on July 4, 2006, against the Pirates and John Franco nailed it down on April 29, 1996, against the Expos. Here’s where they rank on the all-time list:
