VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. - No hard feelings. Not from the man who runs the Mets toward Carlos Beltran, who used his first news conference as a Yankee to blast his former New York team.

Mets chief operating officer Jeff Wilpon did not fire back at the outfielder, who said little more than a month ago that he is "pretty good at turning pages" yet nonetheless let loose on how he was treated during his time in Queens.

Wilpon, asked at David Wright's charity event Friday if there is any bitterness in the wake of Beltran's comments, said: "Not in the least. Carlos and I had a great conversation at the All-Star Game. I saw him a couple times during the season. I saw him in spring training. I have no problem with Carlos. I wish him nothing but the best. On the record, off the record, I would say the same thing. I have great respect for Carlos."
