The Mets issued a press release regarding John Maine's exam and MRI today at the Hospital for Special Surgery in Manhattan.
The MRI and exam revealed that Maine has tendinitis in his rotator cuff. "He will begin a rehabilitation program and will resume throwing as tolerated," the press release said.
Meanwhile, the Mets removed Daniel Murphy from his rehabilitation assignment, reinstated him from his 15-day DL stint and assigned him to Triple-A Buffalo. Murphy was on the 15-day DL since April 5 with a Grade 1 sprain of his right knee MCL. Murphy was 8-for-11 (one home run and six RBI) in three games with Class A St. Lucie.
