The Florida Marlins will be the home team tonight when they play the Mets at Hiram Bithorn Stadium in San Juan. The 19,000-seat facility was named for the first Puerto Rican-born player in the majors. Bithorn pitched for the Cubs in 1942.

Chances are the biggest ovation will be for Edwin Rodriguez, the Marlins' interim manger who is the first native Puerto Rican to manage in the big leagues. It was originally thought that Bobby Valentine would take over the Marlins, but reports now indicate that he is out of the running.

The Expos, now the Nationals, played some home games in Bithorn Stadium.
