Despite a solid return to the big leagues, Pat Misch (0-2, 3.00 ERA) remains winless in two starts. He’ll look to earn his first victory tonight and piggyback of yesterday’s 6-5 walkoff win against 21-year-old Alex Sanabia (2-1, 3.77 ERA) and the Marlins.
Though the Mets considered skipping Mischs turn in the rotation, they opted instead to use him, thus giving Mike Pelfrey, Jon Niese and Johan Santana all an extra day of rest. In the battle of Misch versus the Fish, the lefty is 3-1 with a 5.49 ERA in four career outings against Florida.
Sanabia tossed a gem in a 4-2 win at Pittsburgh on Thursday. Sanabia had been recalled from Triple-A New Orleans to take Sean West's spot after West went on the 15-day DL with right knee inflammation. Sanabia hurled 7 2/3 innings, yielding one run.
