It usually happens less than a handful of times a year, so when it does it indicates something big has occurred in the big city.

Sunday was one of those days.

The three New York-area tabloid newspapers - Newsday, the Post and the Daily News - all went with "OH, WHAT A KNIGHT!'' in honor of Matt (Dark Knight) Harvey's command performance against the Cubs in Game 1 of the NLCS.

The headline was a pop culture mashup of the 1975 Four Seasons song, "December, 1963 (Oh, What a Night)" and the 2008 movie "The Dark Knight," which refers to Harvey's nickname.

The Post actually used the headline on its front cover, not as the lead to its sports section as Newsday and the Daily News did. But close enough.

In May another young Mets pitcher inspired a headline hat trick when Noah Syndergaard made a good impression in his Citi Field debut. The headline: "SYN CITI."
