Met fans are off to a pessimistic start in 2012 as they feel ace Johan Santana will not be ready for Opening Day.

In our most recent Newsday.com Mets poll, 68 percent of fans think Santana's rehab will cut into the 2012 season. In Monday's paper, David Lennon reported that Santana threw 72 pitches in two simulated innings. Next up for the lefty is long toss, followed by live batting practice.

In our current poll, we are asking if David Wright be with the Mets beyond the 2012 season? Vote on the right side of the blog or click here.
