Well . . . this certainly is timely programming: SNY will premiere a half-hour show called "Tommy John Effect: Harvey's Road to Recovery," at 7. Thursday night, chronicling pitcher Matt Harvey's rehab from elbow surgery just in time to replace the latest round of frayed elbows.

The show includes behind-the-scenes footage of Harvey's road back to the mound and interviews with Tommy John himself and various Mets who have had the surgery named for John. No, that does not include interviews with Zack Wheeler and Josh Edgin, both of whom were diagnosed with elbow ligament tears in the past week and will likely require surgery.

In the show, GM Sandy Alderson says this: "You don't think about your rotation in terms of five or even six now. You're looking at eight or nine."
