The Mets and Sept. 11

Last night's Mets-Phillies game -- you know, the one where chants of "U-S-A!" permeated through Citizens Bank Park as news broke that the U.S. had killed Osama bin Laden -- stirred up tons of memories in New York and around this nation and the world.

In keeping with the theme of the Mets and Sept. 11, 2001, remember that Mike Piazza's home run helped the Mets beat the Atlanta Braves in the first sporting event held in New York after the Sept. 11 attacks.

As the memories come back this week, be it in your mind or on your television and computer screens, here are some images that may stir up some happier thoughts about that time - the Mets' 3-2 win over the Braves on Sept. 21, 2001.
