The Phillies are coming

Despite going 3-7 in their last 10 games, the Mets are just five games back of the first-place Philadelphia Phillies heading into tomorrow's big three-game series at Citi Field.

The Mets took two of three from the Yankees this weekend and now here come the Phils.

This is the first time the teams are meeting since each accused the other of stealing signs.

In fact, Charlie Manuel accused the Mets of stealing signs based off the team's home record. The Mets are 15-9 at home and 6-14 on the road.

Anyhow, let's take a look at the pitching matchups for this season:

Game 1, Tuesday: Jamie Moyer (5-3, 4.30 ERA) for the Phillies vs. R.A. Dickey (0-0, 3.00 ERA) for the Mets. Boston's Tim Wakefield, a  knuckleballer like Dickey, held the Phillies scoreless over eight innings on Sunday.

Game 2, Wednesday: Joe Blanton (1-2, 5.06 ERA) for the Phillies vs. Hisanori Takahashi (3-1, 2.53 ERA) for the Mets. Takahashi blanked the Yankees for six innings on Friday.

Game 3, Thursday: Cole Hamels (5-2, 3.92 ERA) for the Phillies vs. Mike Pelfrey (6-1, 2.86 ERA) for the Mets. Hamels is 3-0 with a 2.36 ERA in four starts this month.
