Sometime in every game until Friday, Chris Majkowski, the engineer on Mets radio broadcasts, would say the same words to Howie Rose in the booth. The minute the Mets' opponent got its first hit, Majkowski would say, "Not today, boss," to indicate that the first no-hitter would have to wait.

Rose mentioned during the broadcast Saturday, a day after Johan Santana finally ended that drought, the winner of the 10th race at Belmont was -- what else? -- Not Today.
