A few notes before the Mets face the Marlins at 7:10 p.m.:

-- On Thursday, the Mets debuted their new alternative orange-brimmed caps. On Friday, they broke out their new blue jerseys.

-- Entering play on Friday, Mets pitchers have  posted a 2.00 ERA, which ranks in the top five in baseball:

Nationals 0.33
White Sox 1.00
Dodgers 1.33
Giants 1.73
Mets/Pirates/Twins 2.00

The Nats have the Marlins to thank for topping the list. Miami scored just one run in three games against Washington. Justin Ruggiano's solo shot is the only reason that the Marlins avoided becoming the first team to be shut out in each of its first three games.

-- David Wright may be fresh off an intercostal strain that sidelined him late in camp. Nevertheless, manager Terry Collins said he doesn't feel the need to monitor Wright's playing time. The third baseman likely won't get any extra days off on account of his previous intercostal injury.
