ST. LOUIS — Outfielder Fred Lewis, who has been in the majors and was the MVP for Buffalo this year, was pleased to be back, but was a little stressed because his luggage was stuck in Detroit. “My girlfriend tried to calm me down,” he said. “She told me, ‘It’s just a bag. You’ve got a job to do’” ... Terry Collins on former Met Carlos Beltran suggesting the Cardinals’ successful appeal play Monday: “I guess he doesn’t like me as much as I thought he did.”
