Clayton Kershaw pitched a shutout and hit a home run on Opening Day. But before he threw a single pitch, it became apparent he was going to be playing second fiddle no matter what he did. Hard to imagine he had a problem with it, though.

After all, it's not every day you get upstaged by Sandy Koufax.

The Dodgers legend and baseball Hall of Famer threw out the first pitch before Los Angeles' Opening Day game against the rival Giants. But it wasn't just the thrill of seeing the legendary lefty throwing off a mound again -- it was the added show of the Hollywood-style script that drove the crowd at Dodger Stadium crazy.

Part-owner of the Dodgers -- and LA legend in his own right -- Magic Johnson walked out to throw out the cereminial first pitch. But before he could heave the ball home, Dodgers manager Don Mattingly walked out of the dugout and called for a pitching change. That brought out Koufax, in Dodgers jersey and cap.

It was Koufax's first "relief" appearance since 1964, when he earned a three-inning save.Yes. We checked. Watch the amazing video below:
