-- The Yankees train in Tampa, but the Tampa Bay Rays train 94 miles away in Port Charlotte.

-- Mets Stadium is the new name of the Mets’ ballpark in Port St. Lucie. It was called Digital Domain Park last year after years of being known as Tradition Field, and before that Thomas J. White Stadium.

-- The Red Sox’s Jet Blue Park in Ft. Myers not only has a version of The Green Monster, but the scoreboard on the leftfield wall is the same one that stood at Fenway Park before going into storage.

-- Two cool things about Phoenix Municipal Stadium (Athletics): The foul poles were originally used at the Polo Grounds and it’s just a stone’s throw away from Hole in the Rock, an unusual natural rock formation in Papago Park.

-- The facade of the Twins’ Hammond Stadium was made to look like the entrance to Louisville’s Churchill Downs.

-- Steinbrenner Field has the same outfield dimensions as Yankee Stadium.

-- Orlando’s Champion Stadium (Braves) is adjacent to Disney World.

-- If you're driving between Port St. Lucie and Tampa via Interstate 75 and State Road 84, there's a reason that stretch of highway is known as "Alligator Alley." Don't pull over.

-- Teams that share spring training sites: Cardinals and Marlins in Florida; Dodgers and White Sox, Indians and Reds, Rockies and Diamondbacks, Royals and Rangers, Padres and Mariners in Arizona.

-- Here’s an oxymoron for you: The Angels frolic at Diablo (translated Devil) Stadium.

-- Arizona’s Salt River Fields, home of the Rockies and Diamondbacks, is the first MLB facility built on native American land. The reservation also features two casinos.

-- From 1946-61, the Yankees trained in St. Petersburg, with the exception of 1951 in Phoenix. And that was Mickey Mantle's rookie season.

-- Six teams -- the Angels, Brewers, Mariners, Padres, Rockies and Diamondbacks -- have never held spring training in Florida.
