Yankees work eight-hour-plus day
The Yankees lost to Boston, 2-1, in 2 hours, 10 minutes in the opener of a double-header at Yankee Stadium. What started as possibly a short day became a marathon as the second game ended on Horace Clarke's run-scoring single in the 20th inning for a 4-3 Yankees win. The second game took 6 hours, 9 minutes.
