A teary-eyed Tim Byrdak said he will meet with Mets doctors in the next few days to schedule surgery to repair the torn anterior capsule in his pitching shoulder. Byrdak spoke with Johan Santana and Chris Young, both of whom have come back from the procedure.

“It’s been a very emotional two days,” said Byrdak, 38. Byrdak said he expects to attempt to return from the surgery.

...Justin Ruggiano’s fourth-inning home run off R.A. Dickey was the Marlins’ fourth home run in two days that would not have gone out before the Mets moved in the fences before the season. Opponents now lead the Mets 16-14 in “New Jack Citi” homers . . . Ruben Tejada (2-for-5) extended his career-best hitting streak to 14.
